Dave, a lifelong Anchorage resident for over three decades, is running for reelection of the city's mayoral seat. Born in 1958 in Wisconsin, he embarked on a remarkable journey that has woven together the threads of military service, aviation, and family life. Armed with a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics, Dave served as an Air Force pilot and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Alaska Air National Guard in 2005 after a distinguished 30-year career. His passion for flight extended beyond the military, as he spent another 15 years as a commercial pilot until his retirement in 2020. Dave has been married to his wife, Debra, for 38 years, and has two children. An avid outdoorsman, he finds solace in hunting, fishing, and flying, activities that reflect his deep connection to Anchorage's community and the Alaskan way of life. With his diverse background and longstanding ties to the region, Dave brings a unique perspective to the mayoral race, representing the heart of Anchorage and its people.
